Making It A Happier Halloween With Oriental Trading Company!

I am so ready for this autumn weather. Bring on the crisp, cool weather and mood for carving pumpkins, breezy hayrides, and hot apple cider. It’s also the time to find costume sales. So I was elated to discover that Oriental Trading Company offers an amazing selection of great Halloween costumes. 

A go-to in terms of fall decor and crafts, I’ve long been a fan of Oriental Trading. But I have to admit…I never recalled them offering costumes for adults and kids. And not only do they have a wide selection, but they also offer competitive prices. So given the chance this year, I was flattered to be offered a review of costumes for the kids and I.

So set out to select our favorites. I found the best Wonder Woman T-Shirt Halloween costume complete with removable cape and headband. Paired with jeans, this costume tee can be dressed up or down depending on the event. With young kids however, I love being able to dress up more modestly but still have some fun with it!

While I was happily impressed with all the costume quality; it was this t-shirt costume that set the best example of it in my mind. Upon receipt, it was great to see that the shirt itself was 100% heavy cotton. While the cape is a lightweight material to allow for natural movement. The shirt also fit true to size indicated for women.

Why was it the best example for me? Because I’ve seen these types of costumes in store. There they are treated more as graphic t-shirts and sized for a younger build. Ergo, if there was a corner to cut, this normally is the place to do it in. And that wasn’t the case with this t-shirt costume from Oriental Trading.

The kids didn’t take long picking their own costumes too. With those in mind, I compared their selections to the Halloween aisles at our local supermarket. And I found this cute Kid’s Paw Patrol Chase Costume, (on sale for $20.98 at Oriental Trading) was marked $5 higher in-store.

I can note that the kid’s size SMALL we received for the above costume fits sizes 4-6 (my son is a size 5T/4), and was marked as such on the package. The bodysuit allows for dressing warmer underneath and is easily on/off with two velcro patches along the back. It comes with the hat and a reusable cloth backpack.

Jumping back to our local supermarket aisles again, I noticed there wasn’t as broad a selection of costumes for girls. As we went looking specifically for a jumpsuit, I realized that vast majority sold in-store were dresses or gowns. Meaning shopping online for a Deluxe Catwoman Girl’s Halloween costume was a bonus for my daughter.

The bodysuit and gloves fit true to size. We will be able to dress her in long underwear underneath. I will press in some extra (no sew) Velcro to provide a custom fit for the belt. While not indicated, you do get the molded ear headset with this costume as well. Quite frankly, she loves it.
