This month, I’ve made a forward effort on getting healthier. So when I was asked to create a grilled thin crust pizza for Flatout Flatbreads, it sounded perfect for me to test out! I love supporting local companies {Saline, MI}, and I’d seen this product at Walmart but I’d never tried it before. After doing so however, I can solidly say that I’ve found a new staple for my pantry!

Coming 6 to a pack, I found these easy to prep and fast to grill {or bake}. Plus at only 140 calories per thin crust flatbread, I was impressed. And also determined! I was on a quest to see it possible to get a great tasting, satisfying thin crust pizza for less then 300 calories. So I grabbed a few our our favorite items and decided to craft up a Sweet Pepper Barbeque Chicken thin crust pizza.

All in all, I did too. After tallying up the ingredients  my Sweet Pepper Barbeque Chicken thin crust Flatout Flatbread artisan pizza came up to 336 calories. BUT, you can easily substitute the regular pizza cheese for fat free shredded cheddar and save 45 more calories. All this and still giving yourself a great meal for under 300 calories. If your really intense on saving the most off our daily intake, also look for a thinner bbq sauce.

Sweet Pepper Barbecue Chicken Thin Crust Pizza

A great {and low calorie} option to grill or bake up your own Flatout Flatbread thin crust pizza!


4 servings


  • 1 Rustic White Thin Crust Flatout Flatbread
  • 1/4 Cup Shredded Pizza Cheese
  • 1 oz Cooked chicken Breast
  • 3 Mini Sweet Peppers
  • 1 Tbsp Thick Bbq sauce


  1. Prep the ingredients
  2. Follow the instructions to preheat grill or oven as indicated on the package.
  3. Slice your mini sweet peppers.
  4. Rinse {if canned} or shred your chicken breast.
  5. Measure out your pizza cheese and bbq sauce.
  6. Cook your pizza
  7. Place your Thin Crust Flatout Flatbread on the grill {or oven} for two minutes to warm.
  8. Remove Thin Crust and progress to layering the bbq sauce, pizza cheese, mini sweet peppers, and chicken breast over the thin crust.
  9. Place completed pizza back on the grill {or inside your oven} for another 4 minutes.


  • Less is MORE when your cooking with Flatout Flatbreads. The thin crust won’t need a lot of toppings to create a balanced pizza. You can find the Rustic White thin crust, as well as a variety of others at your local Walmart.
